As family structures become more complex, and as we want to preserve wealth for the benefit of future generations wills and estate planning becomes more complex.
Often there are disputes about wills – family members or other dependants who feel left out and unprovided for – what rights do they have to claim? Or concerns that the will was made under pressure by someone inside, or outside of the family – can the will be challenged?
Or a client who wants to provide for their children but is concerned about substance abuse or other issues and wants to know how they can best protect them into the future? Or someone who wants to set up a trust to benefit their minor children, or adult defendants with special needs – or set up a trust for charitable or educational purposes.
All of these issues are dealt with in Succession and Equity.
